According to Argentina's Steel Chamber (CAA), the country's crude steel production reached around 406,000 tons in September, a 6.6% drop from the same month last year. If compared to the previous month, the fall was 6.8%.
CAA said that poor performance reflected the overall decline in manufacturing activity.
The construction sector suffered a more marked fall in September than the previous month, and the automotive sector suffered a 25.7% year-on-year fall in its production during the month.
In the first nine months of 2019, it accumulated a 35% interannual fall.
